Day one   Christchurch

Arrive Christchurch and explore this beautiful area known as the �Garden City'.  There are plenty of areas to explore, experience, shopping and dining.

Day two   Christchurch - TranzAlpine - Greymouth - Franz Josef

Early this morning you will board the world famous TranzAlpine train.  This journey is rated in the Top 5 train journeys in the world and takes you across the Canterbury Plains, through the heart of the Southern Alps, to Greymouth on the scenic West Coast.  Following your arrival into Greymouth at lunchtime, collect your rental car and begin exploring the rugged environment of the West Coast.  Make your way south for approx 2 hours to the scenic glacier region.

Day three   Franz Josef - Wanaka

This morning take some time to explore one or both of the glaciers that make this region famous.  Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers are only 250 metres above sea level, they are the only glaciers outside of Argentina to exist at such low altitudes, and this makes them easily assessable and a great area to explore.  After exploring this area head south via the scenic Haast Pass to the lakeside town of Wanaka.  This journey is approximately 3.5 hours and takes you through some wild and rugged areas; you will find many roadside stops offering perfect photo opportunities.

Day four   Wanaka - Queenstown

Depart Wanaka and head over to Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand.  The journey is 1.5 hours and along the way you may like to stop at the Puzzling World, a large attraction with a maze, miniputt, indoor puzzle room and a room of illusions.  A great experience for all ages!  In Queenstown take some time to explore the area and all it has to offer, what ever your taste Queenstown is sure to have something for you. Day five   Queenstown - Christchurch

Departing Queenstown head back up the island to Christchurch, through Lake Tekapo and the MacKenzie country.  This journey is around 6 hours long and takes you through a huge variety of dynamic landscapes and scenery, be sure to have your camera ready.

Alternatively on this day you may choose to stay in Queenstown an extra day and fly back to Christchurch to connect with your departing flight.
