Minimum Age:
Minimum Rental age is 21 years
Minimum Rental Period:
A minimum three (3) day rental period applies. Daily rates are based on 24 hour periods.
Rates Exclude:
- $50 surcharge applies for hires starting in Greymouth, Hokitika, Westport, Whangarei and Gisborne
- Petrol bond of $100+GST taken at start of hire and refunded at end

- Airport Concession Recovery Fees
Airport Concession Recovery Fees:
During the period of these terms and conditions, an Airport Concession Recovery Fee of NZ$28.00+GST per hire will apply for all hires commencing or terminating at an Avis NZ airport or ferry location. This surcharge is payable directly to Avis at the time of rental.
Insurance Excess:
In the case of damage to the vehicle the renter is liable for an insurance excess. The amount of the excess is NZ$2500.00+GST for car groups A-E, NZ$3000.00 + GST Car groups V & P. This is required as a bond and preferably paid by credit card alothough cash is accepted.
This excess amount can be reduced to NZ$225.00+GST by purchasing Excess Reduction at commencement of the rental, either separately or as part of an insurance protection package. The Charge for Excess Reducation only is NZ$24.00+GST per day for car groups A-E and NZ$27.00+GST for car groups P-V.
The insurance protection package is NZ$28.00+GST per day groups A-E and NZ$30.00+GST per day group V and P which includes Excess Reduction Insurance, Personal Accident Insurance and Personal Effects and Baggage Insurance.
No insurance on the following roads:-
Tasman Valley Road - Mt Cook
Catlins Area - between Tokanui and Owaka
Skippers Canon - Queenstown
Ninety Mile Beach - Northland
Travelling Between Islands:
Vehicles cannot be pick up in one island and dropped in another, car must be dropped in Wellington and picked up in Picton, or vice versa. Min 3-5 days hire in each island depending on vehicle size hired. |
