Day One  Auckland

Arrive Auckland. Take some time to explore this city, the biggest in New Zealand.

Optional Highlights include; SkyCity, Kelly Tarltons Antarctic Experience and Underwater World, Viaduct Harbour and a trip to Waiheke Island if time permits.

Day Two Auckland - Paihia

Be picked up from your accommodation in Auckland.  Take a two day guided tour of the beautiful Bay of Islands.  Tour includes:

Travel from Auckland to Rotorua First Class Coach.

Sight seeing highlights include 

  •        Auckland's south suburbs, through horticulture farmland of Bombay Hills to dairy district of Waikato.
  •        Rangiriri Battle Site Heritage centre - AV presentation about Maori warriors heroic stand in 1863
  •        Waikato River - New Zealand's longest river
  •        Ngaruawahia - rich in Maori history and home of the Maori Queen
  •        Waitomo Caves - world famous or spectacular limestone formations and million year old caverns.

Rotorua optional highlights include; Agrodome, Whakarewarewa Thermal Area, Rainbow Springs and Skyline Skyrides Gonodola and Luge.

Day five  Rotorua - Wellington

Travel from Rotorua to Wellington on First Class Coach

Sightseeing Highlights include 

 

  • Travel only the desert road through the Rangipo desert.  Temperature extremes in the eastern side of the volcanoes have produced a desolate landscape of gravel fields and hardy alpine vegetation.
  • In the middle of the desert you will stop to view the three volcanoes - Mount Tongariro, Mr Ngauruhoe and Mount Ruapehu.
  • Travel through the beautiful Wairarapa countryside before finishing up in New Zealand's capital city, Wellington.

Wellington optional highlights include; Te Papa the museum on NZ, the Botanical Gardens and a tour of parliament.

Day six Wellington - Picton - Christchurch

 

 

 

 

Ferry line - Take the three-hour cruise from Wellington to Picton and enjoy the scenery of the Marlborough Sounds. Once off the ferry catch the TranzCoastal from Picton to Christchurch.

Have time to explore the city and see the sites. Sites include Bontanic Gardens, Art Centre, Art Gallery, Gondola, Punting on the Avon.

Day thirteen Queenstown - Christchurch

Transport back from Queenstown to Christchurch on  First Class coach.
